THE JOURNEY BEGINS
For as long as I can remember I’ve been drawing, but as I seriously got into drawing at the age of 19, it hit me that I could make a living off it, if I was tattooing. I started making sketches and drawings that would work as tattoos and began the big research into the art of tattooing.
BENNY BLACK, IRON&INK, SINNERS INC AND BACK
It was a long process that demanded patience and persistence but I ended up with an apprenticeship with Benny Black in Horsens at the age of 20, a studio that welcomed the new generation of tattoo artists with open arms. As time passed I found myself ready for new challenges and went further south to Iron&Ink in Vejle where my progress accelerated surrounded by talented artists specializing in black and grey realism. After 2 ½ year with intense growth I started receiving a large number of request to go abroad. A passport filled with stamps and a longing to go back to Aarhus led me to Sinners Inc, where I could continue my progress and get a significant and competent push with both design process and composition, but also in regards to personal branding and social media. 3 years later I said yes to return to Iron&Ink, a place that indeed had been busy with their expansion and growth.
NEW CHALLENGES
Not only a chair awaited me with Iron&Ink, but new and exciting challenges as well. Besides my work as a tattoo artist I’m currently working with the management team to create a new and up-to-date apprenticeship-program. The ambition is to offer a complete and structured program in close collaboration with the artists and their apprentices. I’ve reached a stage of my career where I’m no longer interested in building myself up alone, I want to pass it on and work to ensure that new ambitious talents have the best prerequisites to accomplish their dream of becoming a skilled tattoo artist.
MANY DESTINATIONS
My abilities as a tattoo artist have steadily evolved since the beginning of 2010 and have taken me on some crazy adventures around the world. Some of the greatest have been my guest spot at Bang Bang in NYC, probably the most prominent tattoo studio in the world, my trip to a military base in Kosovo where I was tattooing Danish and American soldiers and last but not least my Denmark Tour with Suspekt where me and another tattoo artist were tattooing the guitar player Jakob Nyholm on stage. However, the travels have been many, and every one of them has had a special meaning to me and my personal growth, this is why I have dedicated an entire section to my tales of travelling and other good stuff here.
